Week 1a

Today in class we were introduced to the curriculum and expectations of the semester. We also watched an interesting TED talk about visual storytelling and comics. In the TED talk, Scott McCloud explained some interesting concepts which relate to the creation and experience of comics. One thing he talked about was what we see, what we don't see, and what we could see, or something along those lines. Another interesting concept he went into is what we imagine between the frames of the comic and how that can affect the perception of events. He also talked some about the transition of comics from paper to digital and some of the pros and cons of that. This video made me excited for the course to come.
